The post-war years were gravy-days for the Chevrolet's line of pickup trucks. In 1947 Chevrolet introduced its line of Advanced Design pickups, which would run thru the 1954 model year. The "Advanced Design" trucks were the result of extensive interviewing of private and commercial pickup owners to find out what people did and did not want. Chevy listened, and as a result, their pickup trucks lead sales for every year of the Advanced Design truck line. Standard in the truck was a 90 horsepower, 216.5 cubic inch, Thrift Master OHV six cylinder engine that produced 174 ft-lb. of torque and a three speed manual transmission. This truck has both the original engine and transmission. In fact most everything on this truck is original. While there has been an older cosmetic restoration done on this truck and it looks good and runs well it would be a great candidate for a restoration project. There are some rust issues at the back of the bed and the passenger side floor pan needs to be replaced but overall this would be an excellent truck to start with if you intended a full restoration.
However if you just want a cool old Chevy truck to ride around in occasionally this is a good one for you as well. The paint looks good and the interior is nice and the truck has been well maintained and cared for the last several years by the same owner who did the original restoration on it. So if this is what you are looking for give us a call today.
